Scanlan: Calls out letter writer as ‘self righteous’

Posted

I would like the opportunity to respond to recent the letter by Kathleen O’Brien-Lawrence (“Merchants, masks, money madness,” Daily Independent, Sept. 14, 2020).

First, there are a myriad of health reasons why people cannot or do not wear masks. None of which are any of your business.

The fact that two levels of management concurred with the employee suggests this. Perhaps they were declining to provide personal medical information that not even they were privy to.

Your medical information is confidential, I am sure you are aware.

Secondly, that you would go to such lengths to ensure employees are disciplined and their job put in jeopardy is truly deplorable coming from a “Christian chaplain” you claim to be. Apparently you don’t practice what you preach if you continue patronizing these businesses who offend you. Don’t like it, don’t go there.

Lastly, as a mere Christian, I am praying for you to stop being so self-righteous and nasty to others whom situations you have no insight into.
