SC Rider: Loegoring hits the ‘iron butt’ trail

Fundraising campaign for nonprofits

Unlike C.C. Ryder in the universally panned 1970 film “C.C. and Company,” Sun City resident Tom Loegoring will hit the road looking for good reviews for nonprofit organizations.

Loegering, Sun City Country Club owner and motorcycle enthusiast, will set out June 5 from Needles, California, for a cross-country trip to raise awareness and funds for his Golf Program in Schools nonprofit — and any other nonprofit that wants to tag onto the effort.

The 48-State Double Insanity Iron Butt Charity Ride will take him to Richmond, Virginia, where he will speak at the BMW rally there June 9 and then it will be on to Umatilla, Oregon, to complete the cross country and back ride stopping in all 48 contiguous United States.
