Satellite technology is hoping bring a greater understanding of Arizona’s groundwater levels

An Arizona State University researcher is looking for ways to better understand the levels of water Arizona has underground.

Jay Famiglietti, a global futures professor in the School of Sustainability at ASU, is using a satellite to discover what’s going on in Arizona after months of reports detailing declining water levels that are halting development.

A recent state report found that concerning water levels for the Hassayampa sub-basin, from which the city gets most of its water, and that the water may run out if actions aren’t taken now to expand reservoirs.
