Sartor deems state of Surprise ‘strong’

Mayor's first State of the City event details progress, future goals

Surprise Mayor Kevin Sartor keeps a countdown clock on his desk that tells him the number of days left in his administration.

He presided over his first State of the City event on April 24 with the clock in front of him at the podium displaying 1,347 days left.

“It serves as a good reminder to make every day as mayor count, to serve with a sense of urgency, but not hastily, and embrace the trust this city has placed on me, but never take it for granted,” Sartor told a packed crowd that was gathered inside the City Council Chambers.
