San Tan Valley school placed on lockdown

Man with active warrant arrested; firearm found

No one was hurt when J.O. Combs Middle School in San Tan Valley went into lockdown after a man with an active warrant for his arrest entered the school grounds. Later, a firearm was found around the school perimeter.

At about 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, Pinal County Sheriff's Office deputies stopped a vehicle near Kenworthy and Combs roads in which the passenger had an active warrant.

The male passenger jumped out of the vehicle and took off running toward the school campus at 37611 N. Pecan Creek Drive.
