Samuel "Bing" Miller, Jr., 81,Samuel "Bing" Miller, Jr., 81, Surprise, died Dec. 14 after a short illness. Mr. Miller was born Nov. 20, 1925 in Chicago, Ill. to Sam and Agnes Miller. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II in Australia and the Philippines. He was in the hardware business for over 40 years in Chicago with his father and other family members before retiring in 1988. Mr. Miller enjoyed boating, water skiing, hunting and fishing. Upon retirement, he and his wife, Dorothy, traveled throughout the US in their motor home. They moved to Surprise from the Chicago area (Palos Park) in 1996. He was a loving husband to Dorothy and a wonderful father to five daughters. He loved to fix things and always had a list of jobs to do when visiting his girls. He forged strong bonds with his sons-in-law, accepting them as sons. He was adored by his grandchildren, his little "monkeys," playing cards and games with them for hours on end. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, to whom he was married for 56 years, sister, Milly Bangert of Palos Park, Ill., brother Bob Miller (Kathy) of Elmhurst, Illinois, five daughters, Susan Rietveld (Robert Gill) of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; Kathy Miller (Dan Hanson) of St. Louis, Mo.; Nancy McIntosh (John) of Glendale, Ariz.; Barb Hall (Mike) of Springfield, Va. and Joyce Golob (Scott) of Palos Park, Ill. and 11 grandchildren, Kelly, Scott, Bill, Bryan, Matt, Samantha, Krissy, Zachary, Marinda, Jaco, and Danielle.Services have been held.
