Surprise is ranked the sixth safest city in Arizona, according to Safewise, which only uses data collected from the FBI in its reports. This is problematic because the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting program only includes crimes that have been reported.
Safewise calculates its rankings with consideration to property crime statistics, but the FBI considers violent crimes to be more serious offenses.
