Ruth Mehl, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Royal Oaks Lifecare Community Care Center December 23, 2018.She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter and son, Arthur. She is survived by her son, John (Cynthia); daughter, Christine; grandsons: David (Kristin), and Eric (Rachel Yeomans); and granddaughters, Emily and Allison. Ruth was born Florence Ruth Current January 26, 1926, in Green Bay, WI, where her father served as the principal at East High School, first home of the Green Bay Packers.She supported Walter during several Presbyterian pastorates, including his service as Associate Pastor with J. Davis Illingworth at Faith Presbyterian Church, until Walter's retirement in 1981. Ruth continued her service to Faith Church as a Ruling Elder on the Peacemaking Committee and then as a member of the Peace/Justice/Mission committee. She was also an active member of the local chapter of the United Nations Association for many years.A memorial service celebrating Ruth's life will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at 10:30 A.M. in the Royal Oaks Lifecare Community chapel. Donations in Ruth's memory may be made to Summit Hospice and/or Faith Presbyterian Church.
