Ruth Ellen Reeves, Sun City - At 72, Ruth Ellen Reeves went to be with our Lord Jesus on December 19th after fighting one battle after another with pneumonia and infections which finally took her earthly life. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and sister. Ruth Ellen was born in 1946, in Rochester, New York. She was the last of six children for Thomas and Hazel Wiley. She met Eli Reeves in 1968, while both worked at Eastman Kodak. They were married in October, 1969 and two children followed in 1971 and 1974.Due to Ruth Ellen's health, Eli decided to move the family to Phoenix, AZ in 1981, where the weather was better. Ruth Ellen was a stay at home mother for the first 25 years of the marriage, then decided to get her Associates Degree at Glendale Community College, graduating with honors and went to work for and then retired from Discover Card, when her medical conditions would not allow her to work any longer.Doing the Lord's work was important to Ruth Ellen at her former church (Trinity Bible Church in Phoenix) for 20 years and then at Lakeview United Methodist (Sun City) for 7 years.Until her health gave out, Ruth Ellen was active at Lakeview UMC in the Library, as a Stephen Minister, UMW Annual Rummage Sale, and UMW women circle. Ruth Ellen is survived by her husband, Eli Reeves; one sister, Mary W. Graham (Robert); one brother, Theodore Wiley (Jenelle); her daughter, Julie Ann Tucker-Wolek (Brian); her two grandchildren: Adam Tucker and Brooke Wolek; and her son, Steven Reeves. Ruth Ellen will be remembered as a loving and kind person who loved the Lord with all her heart. She always had a smile for everyone, no matter how much pain she had. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Lakeview United Methodist Church at 10298 W. Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351, on Thursday, January 10th at 10:00 A.M. with a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org), since several of Ruth Ellen's family died from cancer, but her sister, Mary is a cancer survivor.
