Russell H. Mount, 89, of Surprise, AZ, died on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Feels Like Home Assisted Living in Surprise, AZ. Russ was born July 4, 1928 in Polo, IL, the second son of Nathan and Sarah Mount.He attended public schools in Polo. After graduating from Polo Community High School in 1946, he began working at Mount Plumbing and Heating which his father had established in Polo, many years before. Russ owned and worked this business for over 60 years, serving primarily Polo residents and farmers, with contractual jobs throughout a four county area.Russ married Evelyn Louise (Travis) on July 3, 1948 in Polo. Together they had four children: Carol, Russell, Jr., Richard and Tim. Louise passed away at age 45 in 1975. On October 16, 1976, he married Lois Elaine (Gilbert) Reed in Sycamore, IL.They lived and worked together in the plumbing business until they retired to Sun City West, AZ in 2004.Russ was active in the Polo United Methodist Church, Polo Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Polo Continental Manor Board, Edgewood Golf Course and the Dixon Country Club. He had many fond memories of community associates, employees and friends.Surviving family include his sister, Sharon Gricius of Lakeland, FL; daughter, Carol (Dewayne) Hartle of Sarasota, FL; sons Richard (Rick) Mount of Deltona, FL; Tim (Robin) Mount of Crystal Lake, IL; step-children Lisa (James) Olmsted of Verona, WI; Andrea Schelb of Mt. Dora, FL; Scott (Cynthia) Reed of Sycamore, IL. Grandchildren include: Trent (Jill) Hartle of Seattle, WA; Cherie (Jeff) Vajdik of Bradenton, FL; Brecken (Kyle) Haak of Stillman Valley, IL; Paige Mount of Crystal Lake, IL; Trevor Mount of Huntley, IL; step-grandchildren, Adrianne (Matthew) Chambers and Alex Reed both of Sycamore, IL; four great-grandchildren, Reagan Vajdik of Bradenton, FL; Anneliese and Landon Haak of Stillman Valley, IL; Kennedy Chambers of Sycamore, IL; and three nephews.Russ was pre-deceased by his parents, brother, Donald, both beloved wives Louise and Elaine and infant son, Russell, Jr. Elaine passed away on September 19, 2017.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the National Alzheimer's Foundation or the American Heart Association. A Celebration of Life for Russ and Elaine will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Maxon's Manor, 1469 Illinois Highway 2 in Oregon, IL at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo. Our family is glad they are at peace in heaven, together again.
