Rose Ann Gira

SUN CITY WEST - Rose Ann Gira was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 25, 1929 and passed away on November 3, 2015. She and her husband Richard, have lived in Sun City West for nineteen years. She graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 1951where she received a scholarship for 1951/52. She was Homecoming Queen and "Who's Who of College Students" her senior year. She received her Master of Music from Butler University in 1966. Rose Ann also attended the University of Washington of St. Louis for piano training. She taught vocal and instrumental music in elementary and senior high schools for twenty-two years in Indiana and Oregon and gave private piano lessons for over forty years in her home. Rose Ann participated in many musical organizations in the community such as the "Westernairs," and the "Company" as well as for Desert Palms Presbyterian Church and also as a member of the Sun City Bells. She and her husband of sixty-four years have two children. Son Mark lives in Sacramento, California and daughter Jana lives in Prescott Valley, Arizona. They have nine grandchildren, and two great grand children. She will always be known for her sweet and cooperative personality and people loved her strawberry-blonde hair. Heaven will be even a better place with her there.
