Rooks calls for administrative leave of 2 Peoria district leaders

Also calls for reinstatement of former interim superintendent LaDouceur

Peoria Unified governing board member Heather Rooks requested the board consider placing Interim Superintendent Tahlya Visintainer and Chief Communications Officer Danielle Airey on paid administrative leave, during a recent board meeting.

Rooks also sought to bring back former Interim Superintendent Ryan LaDouceur while police continue their investigation into two Centennial teachers who have sexual misconduct charges being reviewed by Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Although it appears these requests will not be honored, Rooks said she believed approving them would help to preserve the integrity of the ongoing investigation, preserve public confidence, and the appearance of interference while police finish the probe.
