4/12/38 – 4/12/16 APACHE JUNCTION - Roger A. Borey passed away on his birthday, April 12, 1938. He was 78 years old. He was born in Minneapolis, Minn. to parents Roger Stanley Borey and Gladys Marie Tiffany. He graduated from Mound High School, Class of 1957 in Mound, Minnesota. He graduated from University of Minnesota BS, Pepperdine, Masters, and UCLA, PhD. His labor of love was for these two companies. Burroughs Corporation - Westlake Village, Calif. as Manager Engineering Graphics, Engineering Operations, and Industrial Engineer; Digital Development Corporation - Nogales, Sonora, Mexico as V.P and General Manager. He retired in 2000. For fun, he did stunts in the following movies – Ben Hur, Fiddler on the Roof, Zorba the Greek and True Grit, to name a few. He taught Horsemanship classes at California Lutheran College and had his Equestrian group called Roger's Raiders compete. Roger is survived by his wife Judy; his children, Dawn Elizabeth Borey, Gwen Marie Borey, Beth Michelle Borey, Christopher Roger Borey, Michelle Landcaster, Tiffany Wescheler, Dawn Collins, PhD., Christopher Scott Borey; and his sister, Delores Lafave. He had 23 nieces and nephews, 20 grand nieces and nephews and five grandchildren. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Stanley Borey, Gladys Hromadko; step-mother, Alice Borey; brothers, Richard Borey and Don Borey. His greatest accomplishments were in teaching his children, nieces and nephews to be independent, follow their passion, that there is no failure in trying, and they will be successful at whatever they choose to do. It was all about tough love. He will be missed by his wife, family and friends. Services will be May 14, 2016 at St. George Catholic Church, 300 E. 16th Ave., Apache Junction. Rosary at 10 a.m., Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., with celebration of Life following in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley, Apache Junction Branch.
