All I can say is thank you to the Peoria Independent!
I do not think a lot of us would be aware of what goes on in our city, if it weren’t for News Editor Philip Haldiman’s thorough investigating and reporting.
I was sad to see that our representative Brad Shafer’s decision to not run for reelection due to the atmosphere that is “toxic and too detrimental” for his health. Then to read about the mayor of Peoria not allowing discussion on the city manager’s contract. This is just not how I want our city government to run, or to be run.
I am brainstorming with myself on how I can best serve my community, without being “toxic and detrimental” for my health.
But, it appears something must change.
