Robert Richard Schneider, 98 passed on April 9,2025 in Surprise, AZ. He is survived by his children, David Schneider, Linda Jacobi (Roger), grandchildren Matthew Jacobi and Joshua Jacobi, various nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his older brothers and sisters and his beloved wife, Dorothy.
He was the youngest of 11 children of Albert and Hattie Schneider of Milwaukee, WI.
Robert grew up in Milwaukee and following school, went to work at Harnischfeger Corp. (now Komatsu). He spent 6 years studying and working to obtain an Apprentice Certification.
In 1944, Robert entered the Army and served during World War II. In 1945 he was stationed on Okinawa in anticipation of the invasion of Japan. In August 1945, the war ended, and Robert was stationed in what was occupied Korea. He returned home and married his wife, Dorothy. They remained married for 71 years.
In 1985 he graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College with a degree in Graphic Arts. After graduating school, he worked at the local Public Television Station WMVS. He then relocated to Sun City West in 1987.
He then joined the Stained Glass Crafters club, serving as president and tutor to new members. In 1994 he helped to lead a group of members in designing and producing two stained glass windows for the Pan de Vida Church in Surprise.
During this time he designed, created, and produced several stained glass pattern books, all of which were sold at stained glass supply stores internationally.
A memorial service is scheduled at the Camino Del Sol Funeral Home, Sun City West, AZ on August 27, 2025 at 10:00 am.
