GOLD CANYON - Robert "Bob" Cosby, 79, of Gold Canyon, passed away at his, son, Jeff Cosby's home surrounded by his loving family on Aug. 1, 2010, after a 5 month battle with cancer. Bob was born in Chicago, Ill., to parents, Earl F. and Roberta Cosby. Bob was married to wife Betty for 52 years. He is survived by his two children, Jeffrey Cosby of Gold Canyon, and Kimberly Hasty of Gold Canyon; grandsons, Shaun Hasty of Gold Canyon, and Mark Anderson of Gold Canyon; sisters, Joyce Reinke of Hartwell, Ga., and Judy Couter of Webster, Fla., and was preceded in death by brother, Earl F. Cosby, Jr. of Blairsville, Ga. Robert, "Bob," began his career in the US Navy and National Guard in Chicago, Ill. After marrying wife Betty in 1958, he resided in Des Plaines, Ill., and was employed with Kuntze Building Corporation. With an interest in real estate development, he moved to Apache Jct., in 1971. In 1981 he transitioned into a successful real estate sales career with Century 21. Bob became one of the leading producers in the nation specializing in commercial land development and mobile home park sales, winning numerous awards of merit for his sales production and achievement. Bob retired in 1995. The greatest joys of Bob's life were his family; watching grandsons Shaun and Mark grow and become successful in their respective careers and enjoying the game of BINGO at Fort McDowell with wife, Betty and numerous friends. During Bob's last days he was well cared for by the Banner Gateway Health System, its' doctors and nurses and the Banner Hospice family. A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Aug. 28, 2010, at 2 p.m., located in Kings Ranch Estates, 10690 E. Cactus View Circle, Gold Canyon, AZ 85118. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Banner Gardens Hospice, Mesa, AZ.
