Robert Cleaver Cofer, 83Robert Cleaver Cofer, 83, of Sun City West, died Dec. 23, 2006 in Sacramento, Calif. He was born in Delaware City, Del., and graduated from Delaware City High School in 1941. He began college at the University of Delaware. Midstream through college, Mr. Cofer served a tour of duty in World War II with the Army, 84th Infantry Division "Railsplitters," Company C, 335th Infantry Regiment. His tour of duty included the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns. After completing his tour of duty, he returned to the University of Delaware, graduating in 1948 with a degree in chemical engineering. In 1953 he moved to Southern California where he worked as a chemical engineer and met and married Marjorie Moir. He was a loving husband to Marjorie Ellen Cofer for 47 years, until her passing in 2003. He is survived by two sons, Ross and Scott; daughters-in-law, Nancy and Darla. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Amanda, Jaime and Derek. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in the form of donations to the American Lung Association or the Easter Seals Society.
