The switch from creating a roundabout to a signalized intersection at Scottsdale Road and Dynamite Boulevard hasn’t pushed the project over budget so far, according to Scottsdale City Engineer Alison Tymkiw.
Tymkiw noted during the city’s Budget Review Commission’s Feb. 23 meeting that the entire project consists of improvements to a two-mile stretch of Scottsdale Road from Jomax Road to Dixileta Drive, “though everybody focuses on the intersection with Dynamite, which is actually a very small portion of the project.”
The budget for the overall project is $43.7 million and the city has been able to stay within that number to date, Tymkiw told Commissioner Carla (her legal name).
