Rita Zoe Sanders

Posted

Rita, 71, passed away on December 6, 2024, in Sun City, Arizona, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 3, 1953, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Savannah (Mueller) Badeaux and Joseph Thomas Badeaux. Rita spent her childhood on a ranch in northwestern Colorado, 30 miles from the nearest town of Rangely.
On August 30, 1975, Rita married James Keith Sanders, and together they celebrated 49 years of marriage filled with love and devotion. She worked for Littleton Public Schools for 21 years as a kitchen manager before retiring. Her work brought her joy, especially her interactions with children, which made her transition to retirement in Arizona bittersweet.
Rita is survived by her husband, James; her sons, Michael Ryan Sanders of Littleton and Darrin Keith Sanders (wife Shannon); and her cherished grandson, Connor James Sanders (10), of Parker, Colorado. She is also survived by one sister, two brothers, and eight half-siblings.
In Sun City, Rita was an active member of the community and served as president of several local clubs. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandson. She even learned to play Minecraft to connect with him across the miles — a testament to her love and dedication as a grandmother.
Rita’s warmth and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched throughout her life.
