Risas Dental and Braces honors Valley moms with Mother’s Day dental makeover giveaway

Posted

Risas Dental and Braces , recently honored 13 deserving Valley moms with free treatments for its annual Mother’s Day Dental Makeover Giveaway.

The local dental provider will be giving each mom a free, customized dental treatment in recognition of their unwavering commitment to the overall health and wellness of their families.

Over the years, Risas’ Mother’s Day Dental Makeover has helped transform the lives of many Valley moms including Norma Dominguez of Phoenix, who was gracious for the donated treatment she had been putting off.

Norma was nominated by her daughter Ashley who said, “She lost a front tooth which has greatly affected her confidence. She has not been able to get dental care due to taking care of her autistic son who was diagnosed with colon cancer this year. Between taking care of him and making sure he gets to his appointments she has not been able to take care of herself. This would transform her life.”

“It’s been seven years since I’ve been to the dentist. It is not easy to show my face or smile, and people treat you differently. I used to have good teeth,” said Dominguez.

Another mom that was selected for the free dental makeover is Joanna Martodam, of Show Low. Joanna is a recovering addict who’s been clean for over three years and nominated herself in hopes of fixing her smile. Martodam's treatment is valued at $13,026 and includes a full mouth deep cleaning, fillings, extractions, partial upper denture, bridge, and three root canals with crowns.

“A new smile would mean so much to me. I've dealt with the trauma, the courts, and my own mental health to put that part of my life behind me. It’s a huge step in my whole transformation as a mother and a human. And I am forever grateful,” says Martodam.

The annual Mother’s Day Makeover Giveaway resulted in 312 total nominations submitted by family, friends, and community members.

The recipients will receive a custom treatment plan based on their individual needs and closely follow the recommendations of a Risas dentist, including orthodontics if deemed necessary. Additionally, Risas awarded moms in Tucson, Denver, Las Vegas, and San Antonio.

“Mothers give of themselves, selflessly every single day, often overlooking their own essential needs like dental care,” says Jeff Adams, CEO of Risas Dental.  “It is humbling to be able to give the gift of a smile to those who sacrifice so much for their children and their communities.”
