SUN CITY WEST - Richard Keith Coleman was laid to rest in Somis, Calif., in the Memorial Garden at his home on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017. A Celebration of Life and luncheon was held with his friends and family. Richard passed away comfortably with his loved ones by his side on Feb. 7, 2017. What started out as the sniffles at the holidays, turned into pneumonia that he could not overcome. He was a humble, hard-working, funny, competitive, light-hearted, and passionate man who was always the life of the party. He loved golfing, traveling and gambling, but most of all, he loved his family. He dressed up in a clown suit for his daughter's early birthdays, and entertained all the neighborhood kids. He cheered her on as she played softball, and became the loudest cheerleader that Newbury Park Girls Bobbysox Softball ever heard. When his sons were young, coaching was his passion volunteering countless hours for Newbury Park Little League Baseball and organizing the local Basketball Program. He was a pioneer in youth sports. He enjoyed his work as Sales Manager at Trompeter Electronics winning "Salesman of the Year" and many other awards before retiring to Sun City West, 25 years ago. He led his bowling team to victory throwing a 700 series game, and won several tournaments at his favorite golf course, Pebblebrook. He loved playing with the Sandblasters. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anne Coleman; children, Steve and Kathy Coleman, Diane and Shawn Roche, Rob and Olga Coleman; grandchildren, Jason Coleman, Jessica Coleman, Taylor Roche, Annie Coleman and Elisa Coleman.
