Richard James Long

SUN CITY WEST - Richard James "Dick" Long, 94 of Sun City West passed away Aug. 25, 2010. Dick was born in Chicago, Ill. on Dec. 19, 1915. He was a veteran of WWII and proudly served his country. Dick married his wife, Sheila Conlan in Belfast, Ireland on Aug. 21, 1946. Dick will be deeply missed by his wife, Sheila, and children, Dee Foltz of Sun City West, Gerry (Pat) Murphy of Pewaukee, Wis., Mona (Dean) Pusch of St. Louis, Mo., Dennis Long of Chandler, Ariz; grandchildren, Monica (Jack) Parsons, Emily (Travis) Weis, Katie Murphy, Tim Murphy, Natalie (Wes) Matthews, Kyle Pusch, Erica Pusch; and great-grandchildren, Devon, Savannah, and Dillon Parsons. The Long family would also like to thank family members David Smith, helpful and dear niece Andrea Smith, Barbara Thompson, Kate Green, wonderful life long friends Jim and Mary Jane Luterbach, nurse and dear friend Nancy McMillan, kind and wonderful neighbors Norman and Donna Koch for their devotion, friendship and generous acts of kindness. Cremation was held at Camino del Sol of Sun City West. A funeral mass with family and friends to honor the life of Dick will be held October 22,2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 19002 N. 128th Ave in Sun City West. Internment of ashes will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery in Scottsdale.
