Richard A. McGinnis, 84, passed away peacefully while in hospice care on Friday, September 29, 2017. Born, January 3, 1933, in Medaryville, Indiana, to Jesse and Mary McGinnis. After graduating from high school he went on to service in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.For the last 30 plus years, he lived in the Phoenix, Arizona area and worked at Corning Gilbert Incorporated as a machinist until retired; he loved his job.Richard is survived by his life Companion, Patty Trayner, of Sun City, Arizona; sister, Margaret (Lyle) Brummet, of St. Joseph, Illinois; his nieces, Cheryl (Jeff) Heck, of St. Joseph, Illinois and Carol Taylor, of Rantoul, Illinois; Two great-nephews and one great-niece. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and half-sister Gladys Clark. Heartfelt thanks to the Golden Senior Living owners and staff in Surprise, AZ for their living care and support.A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 10th at 12 P.M. at Advantage Golden Door Chapel, 11211 W.
