Ribbon cut, Lindsay Road interchange ready to open

Traffic can access ramps on Loop 202-Santan Freeway on Sept. 16

Gilbert officials cut the ribbon Sept. 15 on the Lindsay Road interchange for the Loop 202-Santan Freeway, completing a decade-long journey to get some traffic relief for the area.

For safety reasons, the Arizona Department of Transportation is not removing traffic barriers and closed signs until 10 p.m., but the interchange will be open for traffic at 4 a.m. Sept. 16, in time for morning rush hour.

Thursday, however, was a celebration of the completion of the $18.15 million project, funded by the town and Maricopa Association of Governments with developer contributions.
