Reward offered in search for armed Mesa toy store robber

Posted

The search continues for a suspect who robbed a Mesa toy store nearly three months ago, and now there is a reward being offered for his arrest.

The incident occurred about 1:25 p.m. April 16 when the suspect entered Teddy Bears – El Paraiso, 730 E. Brown Road, according to Silent Witness.

Customers were inside the store when the suspect pulled a semi-automatic weapon from his waistband and pointed it at an employee and customers.

“The suspect ordered all customers to a corner area of the sales floor and demanded checks and cash from the employee,” Silent Witness officials said last week in a release announcing the reward of up to $1,000.

After receiving the money and checks, the suspect fled. He should be considered armed and dangerous, authorities said.

He is described as in his mid- to late-20s, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9 and 150-160 pounds.
