Revamped Ironwood 92 project begins anew in Scottsdale

Smaller development will change name to Mercado Courtyards

Months of discussions with the McCormick Ranch Property Owners’ Association led to a very different looking — and differently named — Ironwood 92 project than the one unveiled to Scottsdale last fall.

The Scottsdale Planning Commission agreed during its May 11 meeting, paving the way for that body and the City Council to vote on that development sooner than one year after it was originally presented. Ironwood 92 first came before the commission Sept. 21, 2021, and was on the Scottsdale City Council agenda for Feb. 22 before being withdrawn.

Scottsdale Planning Commission was asked not to approve the project, but to authorize the submittal of a new application prior to the one-year timeframe having elapse. The commissioners agreed 6-0 that the new proposal was different from the 2021 submittal, and therefore Ironwood 92 LLC can submit a new application.
