As Generation X begins its rise to those eligible to live in age-restricted communities, there are questions rising over what the future of those communities will look like.

Some homebuilders have begun putting out products that invite multiple generations of families to live under one roof. For existing communities, attracting younger buyers will be key to their survival as retirement meccas.
