A company hired by Phoenix to study the list of historic properties in the city will conclude its study next month and share results publicly in late October, Phoenix planning staff said during a Historic Preservation Commission meeting last week.
Last fall, Phoenix City Council approved $105,000 to contract PlaceEconomics to conduct a historic preservation economic impact study.
“This study will aid in identifying, protecting, and rehabilitating existing building stock that can lead to additional private investment while maintaining affordable housing stock,” a staff document states.
