Residents want reasons for Sun City GM leaving

RCSC board will not discuss

Curious minds in Sun City want to know why Bill Cook is no longer Recreation Centers of Sun City general manager.

The board sent out a statement May 25 announcing that Cook and the board mutually agreed to his departure. Cook had been with RCSC four years, starting as finance director then elevated to general manager when Jan Ek retired. His departure came as a surprise to many Sun City residents.

Kat Fimmel, RCSC board president, said a recruiting firm was hired by the board to find a replacement for Cook. In the meantime, Kevin McCurdy, RCSC finance director, will serve as interim general manager.
