The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office Community Affairs Department informed Sun City West residents about scams affecting seniors.
During a Neighborhood Watch meeting earlier this year, Maricopa County Attorney’s Office Tiffany Lam Mendoza with the Commnity Affairs Team explained reported fraud loss by age takes a normal bell curve, saying individuals 19 and under are not getting scammed as frequently and neither are those over 80.
“The bulk of who requests this presentation are senior populations, but scams and identity theft effect everyone,” she explained.
