Rezoning 22 acres near the southwest corner of Tomahawk Road and Broadway Avenue for the development of a gated 201-unit single-family rental home community should be approved, the Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission decided recently.
The commission voted unanimously Sept. 28, with Commissioner Jesse Gage by phone, to recommend the City Council approve the rezoning of the property from general commercial and high-density multiple-family residential to high-density multiple-family residential by planned development.
The city council will consider the case at a 7 p.m. Oct. 19 meeting in the council chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.
