AAA is projecting that nearly a million Arizonans will travel at least 50 miles from home during the Memorial Day holiday weekend from May 21-25, AAA Arizona said in a release Monday.
This year’s travel forecast is slightly higher than 2025 and will set a new Memorial Day weekend travel record.
AAA expects approximately 850,000 to drive, despite the recent price hikes in gasoline, while approximately 84,000 will fly during the holiday weekend. Airfares are down from last year, resulting in the increase in travel.
