Arizona Congressional members bemoan federal government shutdown

Arizona congressional leaders clashed at times on Tuesday as the federal government headed for a shutdown.

Despite last-ditch efforts by the Senate, no bill continuing funding for operations passed and the government was shutters ad midnight.

Rep. Greg Stanton and many others shared their concerns surrounding government shutdowns as many will lose jobs, food and even housing as the government was set to close non-essential services as of midnight Oct. 1. if Congress fails to agree on a spending solution.
