A substantial conformance improvement permit has been approved for a proposed Renegade Coffee Co. business at 1242 W. University Drive.
The Mesa Board of Adjustment on Aug. 4 voted unanimously to approve the permit, with board members Adam Gunderson and Chris Jones absent.
Jeff Welker of Welker Development Resources LLC, the applicant — on behalf of RMAFII LOC LLC, the owner — requested the permit to allow for deviations from certain development standards to re-establish a restaurant with a drive-thru at the site within the limited commercial district, Planner Jennifer Gniffke said in a staff report document.
