Reilly: Letter writer misinformed about masks

Posted

In reply to Mr. Oudenhoven’s letter to the editor (“Mask wearing is supported by science,” Sun City West Independent, May 12, 2021), I would simply state, Mr. Oudenhoven is sadly ignorant on the science about face masks.

There are organizations like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that claim to follow the science but they offer no peer-reviewed scientific studies that prove that masks work to stop the transmission of diseases. Masks have not shown to be an effective tool to stop the spread of viruses since the Spanish Flu of 1918. The masks sold by manufacturers all come with a warning on the box that states masks are not effective in stopping the transmission of diseases.

But, the CDC, supposedly a “scientific” institution, has flip-flopped on their recommendations regarding wearing masks since March of 2020. The CDC also didn’t tell you that hydroxychloroquine, in scientific peer reviewed studies, was shown to be an effective cure in defeating COVID. Dr. Fauci, the man who so many people love and trust with their lives, has flip-flopped on his mask recommendations since March of 2020. They never told you that people in good health have a 95%-99% survival rate with COVID.

Why would anyone take an experimental, unproven inoculation that is currently being tested on people who have essentially been coerced through fear and dishonesty and propaganda to take the experimental shot that has already caused nearly 4,000 deaths to date, and they don’t even know about the long-term effects to our health and our immune system. Is America’s greatest generation really this uninformed?

One notoriously rude variety store here in Sun City West continues to force the wearing of masks, even though they don’t work. They deprive people of oxygen and they may have other harmful health effects.

I’d be surprised if this article gets past the censors.
