Potential boundary adjustments, school closures ahead for Peoria Unified

Comprehensive plan to come before governing board

Peoria Unified School District is now embarking on a comprehensive multiphase and multiyear journey that will change the district on many levels.

District officials have begun the process of formalizing a proposal for potential school closures, facility and programming modifications, as well as potential attendance boundary changes.

For years, officials have wrestled with growth in one area of the district and underused facilities in other areas, while suffering from lack of funds for capital improvements because of a number of bond failures over the past decade.
