Redistricting meetings slated for Pinal County supervisor, JP maps

Apache Junction and Gold Canyon could be represented in a Pinal County supervisor District 5 that stretches east to Superior and Top of the World or also southeast to Kearny.

The cities, towns and unincorporated areas share a common corridor — U.S. Highway 60, Pinal County Deputy County Manager Himanshu Patel said.

“The interest of Superior, Kearny .. is more on the U.S. 60 corridor. Those communities have a shared interest and there are some common themes along that corridor for both recreation/tourism as well as natural resources. And the interest of the supervisor — along with the leadership of those cities — felt that they needed to be more tied to that corridor,” he said in a redistricting press call.
