Redden: Cars have right of way on golf course crossings

Posted

As a golfer, I own a golf car and use all eight Recreation Centers of Sun City owned golf courses.

The concern I have is where the golf car paths and automobile streets cross. There are 33 of them. The automobile drivers need to be aware they do not have to stop, the golf cars have to stop.

A lot of times I approach one of these intersections and the automobile driver starts slowing down and stops. This is a dangerous situation. Please slow down and proceed with caution, do not stop! It’s a great way for you to be rear-ended. You have the right of way, not the golf car. It has nothing to do with being considerate, it has to do with the rules of the road.
