Construction could begin this winter on 10 soccer fields and four baseball/softball fields at Red Mountain Park.
The work includes adjusting two existing disc golf courses and several equestrian trails, and adding parking, lighting, utilities, landscaping, irrigation and two new restroom/office/storage buildings at the park, 7745 E. Brown Road. It is to be completed by winter 2023, Mesa officials said at a Feb. 25 live virtual public meeting.
The project is designed to 30% completion, with it and the construction funded by part of a $196 million bond program approved by Mesa voters in the Nov. 6, 2018, election.
