A large fire at a northwest Valley recycling plant is causing smoke seen across the West Valley.

The Surprise Fire-Medical Department is fighting a second-alarm fire at 190th Avenue and Deer Valley Road with the help of multiple Valley departments.

“The fire is defensive and we anticipate that it will take multiple days before it is fully contained,” said Fire-Medical battallion chief and spokesperson Larry Subervi.
