Lives will change this week and destinies perhaps will chart new courses for a lucky few. Fate brings two of the country’s largest jackpot prize drawings in history just 24 hours apart.
With no winning numbers drawn from this past week’s Mega Millions lottery, rolling over the prize to this week brings an expected $850 million booty, which would be the third largest single jackpot of all time. That drawing is Tuesday, Jan. 19.
Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot hasn’t drawn winning numbers since September, and its expected windfall will hit $730 million when drawn Wednesday, Jan. 20. This is only the fourth time the jackpot has crossed the $700 million mark, according to Powerball, and would mark the sixth largest in U.S. lottery history.
