Recall effort against Liberty Elementary transgender board member fails

An effort to recall transgender Liberty Elementary School District board member Paul Bixler failed Monday after petitioners did not hand in signatures.

According to the Maricopa County school superintendent's office, the deadline to file the signatures was June 9.

“No signatures were turned in for the Liberty recall filing,” said Tim Sifert, chief communications officer for the office.
