Sky Harbor braces for big travel week with Christmas, New Year's

Frosty, frigid temperatures are abound in certain U.S. areas this week — ready to bite travelers who decide to take off for the Christmas holiday this weekend.

Forecasters are “warning of treacherous holiday travel and life-threatening cold for much of the nation” as an arctic air blasts parts of the U.S.

That likely won’t stop travelers from heading around the country to visit friends and family this holiday season. AAA expects 7.2 million people to be flying this week and next, part of the overall 112 million people who will be taking planes, trains and automobiles to reach their destination.
