OPINION — Gov. Hobbs, with no immediate imperative, has authorized the removal of over half of the beloved Salt River wild horses.
She has decided to listen to special interests, who have always wanted the wild horses extinguished, rather than the majority of her constituents who want these wild horses protected.
Ten years ago, when these same special interests were about to eliminate them all, the public backlash was strong. Gov. Ducey, the Arizona Legislature and the public all stood up and said no. The Salt River Horses Act was passed to prevent this very thing.
