RCSC revised bylaws sink in shallow water

Board approves them but with not enough votes

Recreation Centers of Sun City board member Allan Lenefsky voted for taking out a provision of the revised corporate bylaws because of group of board members said they would torpedo the revisions if it stayed in the document.

In the amendment regarding collection petition signatures on RCSC property stayed in the proposed revisions, but they still failed on a technicality during the board’s Nov. 17 business meeting. But only after some attempted amendments and two recesses to discuss procedure.

“Being able to get signatures on RCSC property is common sense,” said Patrick Gannon, an adhoc committee member. “A possible recall is something board members understand when they run for the office. If you take that out, it strips members of their right to petition.”
