The Recreation Centers of Sun City Long Range Planning Committee is manned and ready for action.

RCSC board members selected nine cardholders to serve on the freshly reinstated Long Range Planning Committee. The panel will assist RCSC officials in planning capital improvements in the community.

The committee was disbanded in 2015 as RCSC officials believed it had served its purpose after recommending a capital improvement plan and budget through 2020. The committee was brought back as an ad hoc group in 2016 to study uses for the Grand Avenue property purchased last year by RCSC officials. Once it made recommendations The bno in the spring of 2017 the group’s work was complete.

The RCSC board in June decided to reinstate the Long Range Planning Committee to standing committee status and asked for applicants. The board selected Rich Peterson, Bill Loslo, Jean Buck, James McConnell, Gary Osier, Norm Dickson, Peggy Loren, Lynn Lybolt and David VanderNaalt as the cardholder members, according to Joelynn Higgins, RCSC communications and marketing coordinator. The committee will be rounded out by a chair and co-chair to be fill by sitting RCSC board members. Those positions will be named by the new board president to be elected in January, Ms. Higgins added.

A regular meeting date and time were not announced for the Long Range Planning Committee. All RCSC committees meet in the Lakeview Recreation Center upper level board room, 10626 W. Thunderbird Blvd. When a meeting date and time are selected for the Long Range Planning Committee it will be listed on the RCSC websie, www.suncityaz.org, with other RCSC meetings.
