Recreation Centers of Sun City Strategic Alternatives Committee members are split on the location for a performing arts center in the community.
During its July 21 meeting, a straw poll was taken at the beginning to determine a preference and it was 7-5 in favor of the Mountain View Center campus, 9749 N. 107th Ave. But after discussion of the pros and cons of each location, a second straw poll showed the resulted had mirrored — 7-5 in favor of the Lakeview Center campus, 10626 W. Thunderbird Blvd.
The committee will continue debate on the issue, including the specific features to be included in the Mountain View rebuild at its next meeting, 2 p.m. Friday, July 28 in the Sonoran Room at Grand Center, 10415 W. Grand Ave.
