Recreation Centers of Sun City officials are halfway to having a budget to work with in 2023.
The board rejected the proposed budget in October, actually having a majority to approve but not by two-thirds as required, then had a planning session in November to try and reconcile the proposal. One of the biggest sticking points with those who opposed the budget was a $29 increase in annual assessments. Another was transferring $4.5 million to the capital reserve fund.
The only suggested change during the planning session was Bill Cook, RCSC general manager, suggested dropping the transfer to $3 million. But the assessment increase remained.
