Ray of Sun City West passed away in early December of 2019. Ray lived in Sun City West for over twenty years.

He served as a board member of PORA and the Sun City West Community Fund, served in various roles with the Handi-Capables Club of SCW, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels and with PORA’s Consumer Services program.

Ray served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a radar observer and ground intercept aircraft controller with the 339th Fighter Interceptor Squadron in Japan, and after the war as adjutant of the 58th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Otis Air Force Base, in Falmouth, MA. After leaving the Air Force, he obtained a BA degree and spent most of his career as a technical writer/editor and advertising manager for Bethlehem Steel Corporation.

Ray was widowed twice and is survived by two daughters, a step-daughter and step-son, and several grandchildren.

A proud veteran, Ray will be honored by family and friends at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, on November 27, 2020 at 11:00 A.M.
