JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Arizona Rattlers used a strong fourth-quarter effort to secure an important 62-41 win over the Jacksonville Sharks on Saturday night at VyStar Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
Following a back-and-forth first three quarters, Rattlers QB Dalton Sneed, WR/RB Jamal Miles and RB Shannon Brooks made multiple big plays down the stretch as Arizona was able to take a multiple-score lead and win by 21.
The Rattlers' defense also stepped up, securing a game-sealing interception and allowing just one Sharks score in the final two quarters.
The win moved the Rattlers to 6-4 on the season. Jacksonville, who moved to the IFL this season after playing in the NAL, fell to 1-8. Arizona — who has one win this season against a team with a winning record (7-3 NAZ) — is tied with San Diego for the fourth and final playoff berth in the Western Conference.
San Diego, who beat Arizona in Glendale earllier this season, hosts the Rattlers next weekend at Pechanga Arena. The winner of that contest will take sole possession of the final Western Conference playoff spot with 5 games to go.
Kickoff is set for 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 and the game can be seen live on the IFL's YouTube channel.

My job has allowed me to meet many influential people, including Hillary Clinton, Al Gore (I have a brief, on-camera part in his second movie), George Strait, Matthew McConaughey and several world-class athletes.
I have worked for Independent Newsmedia on two separate occasions – 2000-09 and 2018-present – after studying journalism at the University of Texas at Austin.
